Welcome to Atlantic Crane Inspection Services
Atlantic Crane Inspection Services was formed February 14, 1997 by Clarence and
William Hottenstein. The Brother’s saw a need, in the crane industry, for crane inspections that were performed by operators/mechanics that have been exposed to all types of cranes and applications in the hoisting industry. As the Crane Inspection industry grew, so did A.C.I.S.
At this juncture, the brother’s found the workload to be greater than the two could handle. They hired several consultants to help with the inspections and also started a training department, which would supply crane operators with NCCCO certification that not only improves their skills, but also would provide a safe jobsite environment.
William took over the reins of the training department and developed programs for the NCCCO certification training of operators which is needed to acquire state and city hoisting license and Clarence was in charge of Training and updating inspectors.
Since then, A.C.I.S. has acquired contracts with Government, Military and private industry throughout the U.S, Canada and the Caribbean. With offices in Philadelphia, State College PA and Lakewood NJ, A.C.I.S. inspection services includes New York, New Jersey, Delaware, and Maryland.
Atlantic Crane Inspection endorses the national certification program offered by the National Commission for the Certification of Crane Operators (NCCCO), and provides training to prepare candidates for NCCCO examinations.
A.C.I.S. has a staff of 12 inspectors, 6 trainers, and an engineer with a master’s degree in structural engineering. This has allowed diversification to other inspection venues such as Dielectric Testing, Load Testing and Rigging Gear Inspection and Certification.
