ABOUT US
Let's get familiar.
Our History
Atlantic Crane Inspection Services was founded February 14, 1997 by Clarence and William Hottenstein. The brothers saw a need in the crane industry for crane inspections performed by former operators and mechanics with experience in the crane and construction industry.
When the brothers found the workload to be greater than the two could handle, they hired several consultants to help with the inspections. They also started a training department, which would supply crane operators with NCCCO certifications that not only improves skills, but also helps the operator provide a safe jobsite environment.
As the crane inspection industry grew so did ACIS. William took over the reins of the training department and developed programs for the NCCCO certification training of operators. Clarence was in charge of training and updating inspectors. In 2008, Clarence’s grandson Matt joined ACIS as an inspector & trainer, and in 2017 Matt was named as C.O.O. of Atlantic Crane.
